Kevin Crossley-Holland to Share Readings from Collected Poems in Wells-next-the-Sea

Award-winning poet, author and folklorist Kevin Crossley-Holland will be the special guest at an afternoon event in the St Nicholas Church Summer Concert Series in Wells-next-the-Sea on Wednesday 1 July 2026 at 3.00pm.

Titled Echoes of the Sea & Shore, the event celebrates the landscapes, stories and coastal influences that have inspired much of Kevin’s writing over the years. During the afternoon, Kevin will give readings from his newly published Collected Poems, bringing together work from across his distinguished literary career.

One of Britain’s most respected writers, Kevin is widely known for his poetry, children’s fiction, retellings of myth and legend, and his acclaimed Arthur trilogy. His work is deeply rooted in history, folklore and the natural world, making this a particularly fitting event for North Norfolk audiences.

A selection of Kevin’s books will be available to purchase on the day, offering visitors the opportunity to explore more of his work and take home signed copies.

The afternoon will also include tea, coffee, sandwiches and cake, providing a relaxed and welcoming setting in the historic surroundings of St Nicholas Church.

Kevin Crossley-Holland to Appear at the New King’s Lynn Book Festival

We are delighted to announce that Kevin Crossley-Holland will be taking part in the inaugural King’s Lynn Book Festival, taking place from 2-4 October 2026 at the historic King’s Lynn Town Hall.

While the Book Festival is new in name, it builds on a proud literary tradition stretching back more than forty years through the much-loved King’s Lynn Literature Festivals. Under the direction of Chairman and Festival Director Sherie Naidoo, the festival has been reimagined as a welcoming and accessible celebration of books, poetry and ideas.

On Sunday 4 October, Kevin will join fellow poets Alia Kobuszko and Jude Nutter for a special afternoon event, Meet Three Poets.

Kevin, whose Collected Poems was recently published, will be joined by Alia Kobuszko, one of the most exciting new voices in contemporary poetry, whose first poems have been published by Faber, and Jude Nutter, the Yorkshire-born poet whose work has been shaped by many years living in the United States and who is now moving to Ireland.
